As the Muskegon Motorcycle Gang was on their way back from an event they were hit by a Wisconsin driver, resulting in the death of two motorcyclists, and injuries to eight others as well as to the driver. The driver Clinton Lovelace appeared at the Fond Du Lac Courthouse this past Friday and plead not guilty.

The accident happened on May 31, 2012 when Lovelace on Highway 151 crossed the center and hit ten members out of the twelve motorcyclists. Eight motorcyclists were injured, and two were killed. Dan Winsemius of Twin Lakes passed away at the scene of the accident while Douglas Yonkers of Muskegon made it to the hospital, but died a week later.

At the time of the accident Lovelace was on two prescribed medications, however a deputy testified that they also found two syringes, and sealed baggies with small pieces of brown paper in his vehicle. It is believed that the items were used for drugs like LSD or acid, but Lovelace informed officials he was unaware that the items were in his car, (Man pleads not guilty in bikers' deaths, WOOD TV, http://www.woodtv.com/dpp/news/local/muskegon_county/clinton-lovelace-in-court-july-27-2012).

Lovelace was initially charged with six different counts, but Friday six more were added to accumulate to two counts of vehicular homicide while using a controlled substance, three counts of causing injury while operating a vehicle/using a controlled substance, five counts of second-degree recklessly endangering safety, and two counts of felony bail jumping, (Man pleads not guilty in bikers' deaths, WOOD TV).
