No plans this weekend? Come one come all to the Michigan Motorcycle Mecca! This custom bike show promises to be a good time for bike enthusiast!

The event got its start from executive producer and resident of Birmingham Ty Hicks. Hicks got bit by the motorcycle bug at a young age owning a Honda Trail 70 cycle at the age of 11. After organizing the Ride Through Time event for ABC Harley-Davidson of Waterford in 2004, Hicks desired to produce a larger than life custom bike show. All Hicks' hard work will pay off as his once just a dream custom bike show becomes a reality this weekend at the Michigan Motorcycle Mecca.

Hicks' hope for the event is that “it will be popular. I believe people are drawn to motorcycles because of the overall freedom you feel when you're on a bike. It's very therapeutic, and this show, for people who have motorcycles as well as those who do not, is a multi-class custom bike show that involves one-off customs, factory customs, factory cruisers, sports bikes and European bikes, “(5 questions with Ty Hicks, executive producer of the Michigan Motorcycle Mecca, Mary Lendzion, Detroit Free Press,

With all those customs it's guaranteed something will strike your interest. Besides some aw-inspiring bikes, the event promises some seminars that will be informational to beginners and long time riders alike, “we have five local Harley-Davidson dealers presenting seminars on safety, how to detail your bike, traveling, packing for motorcycle travel, accident-scene management and the new Michigan helmet law. The seminars are free with paid admission to the show, but seating is limited. People should arrive early for them,” (5 questions with Ty Hicks, executive producer of the Michigan Motorcycle Mecca, Mary Lendzion, Detroit Free Press).

And YES! Our very own Motorcycle Lawyer Jason Waechter will be speaking on the new Michigan helmet law! Come to find out the logistics on the new law on Saturday from 11:30am-12pm and Sunday from 2:30pm-3pm. Again arrive early to snag a seat, you won't want to miss this!
