A Crash Course for the Motorcyclist is an instructor-led Accident Scene Management (ASM) Basic 100 class presented by Road Guardians and hosted at Arsenal Harley-Davidson in Waterford Township, Michigan.
This 8-hour training program is designed specifically for riders and teaches what to do — and what not to do — at the scene of a motorcycle crash until professional help arrives.

What “A Crash Course for the Motorcyclist” Teaches
This class covers real-world crash response skills tailored to the motorcycle community. The focus is practical, structured, and hands-on.
- Traffic control and securing the crash scene
- Creating a safe scene for yourself and others
- Making a clear, effective 911 call
- Helmet removal — when, why, and how
- Moving the injured rider — when, why, and how
- Proper use of tourniquets
- Spinal restriction principles
- Managing shock and trauma response
Participants also learn structured treatment priorities including:
- P.A.C.T. (Patient Assessment & Critical Treatment priorities)
- ABCSS of Trauma (Airway, Breathing, Circulation, Spine, Shock)
This is motorcycle-specific crash response training — built for real-world situations riders may encounter.

The course is led by Wally Jarvis, RN. Road Guardians / ASM is accredited by CAPCE (Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education), reinforcing the professional standard behind the training.
