Michigan law often shafts motorcyclists. A biker’s right to No-Fault benefits occurs when a car, van or truck is involved in the motorcycle wreck. Even worse, an owner and operator of an uninsured motorcycle is absolutely EXCLUDED from getting any No-Fault benefits.

Am I Entitled to No-Fault Benefits if My Motorcycle Is Uninsured?

Even if the motorcyclist just happens to let his insurance lapse, he is excluded from No-Fault benefits. Stated another way: if you are riding your uninsured motorcycle and even if a drunk driver rear ends you, you do not get No-Fault benefits.

Excluded from benefits means you don’t get payment for: Up to 3 years of wage loss, up to 3 years of house chores, medical transportation and, worst of all, PIP Medical. You could get stuck with hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical bills!
