2026 Michigan Motorcycle Season: A Summer in Review

Author: Jason Waechter | Date: September 23, 2026 | Category: News

Michigan’s 2026 riding season has given us plenty to be grateful for: time with riders across the state, opportunities to support local charities, and more motorcyclists prepared to help at a crash scene. Here is a look at what THE Motorcycle Lawyer® team has been working on this summer.

78 motorcycle events and 6 charity rides

Our team attended 78 motorcycle events across Michigan and sponsored 6 charity rides. Thank you to the riders, clubs, organizers, and volunteers who welcomed us and made those events possible.

76 riders supported through crash-scene training

Through Road Guardians, Jason sponsored Accident Scene Management training for 76 bikers. The classes prepare riders and bystanders to help in the critical minutes after a motorcycle crash, before emergency responders arrive.

The training covers crash-scene awareness, hazards, and practical assistance. It is hands-on education for people who want to be better prepared when another rider needs help. Learn more about Accident Scene Management training in Michigan.

11 free cataract surgeries through Vision of Justice

Through Vision of Justice, Jason and Dr. Walter “Wally” Cukrowski provided 11 free cataract surgeries. The nonprofit’s work helped patients regain sight and return to parts of everyday life they had been missing. Jason and Dr. Wally also shared the organization’s mission on Local 4’s Live in the D.

Preparing cases and challenging first impressions

First Trial Mock Trials & Focus Groups, led by Shelby Seeley, has now focus-grouped 17 cases. The process gives attorneys a chance to hear how everyday people respond to a case before trial, identify weaknesses, and improve how the evidence is presented.

This summer’s updates also included a motorcycle case our team was told could not be won. Read how the evidence changed the outcome in the “impossible” motorcycle case, or learn more about First Trial.

Past results do not guarantee future outcomes. Every case depends on its own facts and circumstances.

What’s ahead

Jason is scheduled to present at the Michigan Association for Justice’s “The Best I’ve Learned from National Seminars” on October 7. Our team will also be attending to continue learning and sharing ideas with other trial lawyers.

There is a new office project underway, too: Jason is remodeling a former bank into an office with a courtroom. Follow the latest bank-to-office update for a look at the work.

Thank you to everyone who rode with us, trained with us, supported a charity event, or followed along this season. You can read more about our work in the motorcycle community and see the original season newsletter.
