SUMMARY:Bikes on the Bricks — Flint’s Premier Motorcycle Rally
DESCRIPTION:  \nBikes on the Bricks — Flint\, Michigan’s Premier Motorcycle Rally\nWhere History Meets Horsepower\nEvery September\, downtown Flint\, Michigan roars to life for Bikes on the Bricks\, one of the Midwest’s premier motorcycle rallies. In 2025\, the event runs September 5–7\, transforming the historic brick-lined Saginaw Street into a showcase of steel\, chrome\, and community. What started in 2007 as a small\, rain-soaked gathering of just 100 die-hard riders has grown into a three-day spectacle drawing thousands of bikers\, spectators\, and families into the heart of Vehicle City. \nThe Story Behind the Bricks\nThe idea was born in the fall of 2007 as a motorcycle companion to Back to the Bricks\, Flint’s famous automotive event. Community leaders including Don Williamson (then Flint Mayor)\, Larry Ford (former Genesee County Chamber of Commerce President)\, Gary Hagler (Acting Flint Police Chief)\, and Ron Lonsway of Vehicle City Harley-Davidson pushed the concept forward. Lonsway teamed with Kirk Bowles (Forest City Cycle Works)\, Ed Henderson (Top End Cycle)\, and radio voice Jeff Wade of WRSR 103.9\, and in just three weeks the first rally was held—complete with a fledgling police motorcycle skills competition. \nFrom that chilly October day\, the event has only grown. Today\, Bikes on the Bricks is a Flint institution\, combining bike shows\, stunt acts\, live music\, charity rides\, vendors\, and of course\, the renowned police competition. Proceeds from the escorted ride have supported local causes like the Old Newsboys of Flint\, Hurley Medical Center\, Friends of the Flint Police\, Young Marines\, and St. Luke NEW Life Center—proving that this event is as community-driven as it is adrenaline-filled. \nWhat’s On in 2025\n\nPolice Motorcycle Skills Competition: All weekend long\, elite officers from across the country demonstrate jaw-dropping control and balance. The finals hit on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.—a must-see highlight.\nEd Henderson Police-Escorted Charity Ride (Saturday): Kickstands up at 11:00 a.m. from Vehicle City Harley-Davidson. Intersections blocked\, riders cruising together at safe speeds\, and all proceeds donated to local charities.\nBike Show (Sunday): Registration runs 10 a.m.–1 p.m. at Saginaw & 4th Street. Awards follow the police finals. From radical customs to immaculate vintage machines\, the variety is stunning.\nStunt Shows by the VCR Team: Adrenaline-fuelled exhibitions Saturday at noon & 5 p.m.\, and Sunday at noon & 3 p.m. Downtown streets become their arena.\nLive Music & Entertainment: From the Jon Fett Quartet on Friday night to Perfect Stranger on Saturday and Jason Pyzik on Sunday afternoon\, the soundtrack keeps the party alive.\nMiss Bikes on the Bricks Pin-Up Contest: Saturday at 3 p.m.—a classic nod to motorcycle heritage with a modern community vibe.\nVendors\, Merch & Beer Tent: Rows of gear\, custom parts\, apparel\, and food vendors fill downtown. The beer tent stays open all weekend\, serving as a social hub between shows and sets.\n\nWhy This Rally is Different\nBikes on the Bricks isn’t just about motorcycles—it’s about Flint. The event fuels downtown businesses\, draws visitors from across Michigan and the Midwest\, and celebrates the city’s resilience and spirit. Vehicle City Harley-Davidson serves as both a starting line and community cornerstone\, while riders\, police\, and fans unite to share skills\, stories\, and support for local causes. \nThe balance of history\, spectacle\, and purpose makes Bikes on the Bricks unique: you’ll see artistry in custom machines\, courage in police precision riding\, community pride in the charity ride\, and unity in the thousands who gather under Flint’s skyline. \nEvent Snapshot\n\nDates: September 5–7\, 2025\nLocation: Downtown Flint\, MI (centered on Saginaw Street)\nPresented By: Bikes on the Bricks & Vehicle City Harley-Davidson\nSignature Highlights: Police skills competition finals (Sunday)\, Ed Henderson Escorted Ride (Saturday from Vehicle City Harley-Davidson)\, Bike Show (Sunday)\, VCR stunt shows\, live music\, vendors\, contests\, and the beer tent\n\nThe Invitation\nBricks. Bikes. Brotherhood. \nThis September\, put Flint on your ride map and be part of the roar. Bikes on the Bricks is more than a rally—it’s a living tradition built by riders\, for riders\, and for the community. Roll in for the escorted ride\, line up for the bike show\, cheer the stunts\, and celebrate three full days of motorcycles\, music\, and Michigan pride. \nBring your bike. Bring your friends. Bring your voice to downtown Flint\, September 5–7\, 2025—when the streets come alive and the bricks themselves seem to rumble. \nClick Motorcycle Events for more Michigan motorcycle events

SUMMARY:Shine On For Shelby – Ride to Shine Observation Run
DESCRIPTION:Shine On For Shelby – Ride to Shine Observation Run\nHonoring Shelby’s Light – 9th Annual Ride to Shine Run\nEvery year in the United States\, more than 16\,000 people are lost to homicide. For families and friends\, the greatest fear after such a tragedy is that their loved one will be forgotten. \nOn October 26\, 2014\, Shelby Fazio was brutally murdered. She was only 23 years old — but in her short time\, she touched thousands of lives. To those who knew her\, Shelby will never be forgotten. But her family and friends wanted to make sure that millions more could know the brightness\, kindness\, and energy she brought to the world. \nThe Shine On For Shelby campaign was created to carry her light forward. \nShelby’s Life and Legacy\nShelby’s story is not about her tragic death — it’s about how she lived. \n\nShe overcame a debilitating illness.\nShe graduated high school and college with honors.\nShe traveled the world\, went diving with sharks\, and even worked at Walt Disney World\, proudly calling Mickey Mouse her “boss.”\nShe gave back constantly — volunteering at food banks\, homeless shelters\, nursing homes\, veterans homes\, Ronald McDonald Houses\, wildlife centers\, and more.\nShe held leadership roles in Key Club and Circle K\, inspiring others through service.\nShe supported global causes like UNICEF\, Kids Against Hunger\, the Eliminate Project\, and African wildlife conservation.\n\nBy 23\, Shelby had accomplished more than many achieve in a lifetime. Most importantly\, she always made time for her family\, her friends\, and her beloved dog\, Azaia. \nHer family and community want her to be remembered not for the crime that took her life\, but for the love\, joy\, and service that defined it. \nShine On For Shelby\nThe Shine On For Shelby campaign was launched to turn tragedy into hope. Each October\, people are encouraged to honor Shelby by volunteering or donating to causes she cared about\, including: \n\nNo-kill animal shelters\nCanine advocacy programs\nWildlife and nature conservation\nHomeless shelters\nVictim advocacy programs\nFood banks\n\nThe idea is simple: keep Shelby’s light shining by doing good in her memory. \nThe Ride to Shine\nOne of the most powerful ways this mission comes alive is through the Ride to Shine Observation Run\, an annual motorcycle event held in her honor. Riders gather to support the Shine On movement\, raise funds\, and spread awareness while enjoying a day on Michigan’s scenic roads. \nMichigan Motorcycle Event Details\nIn just a few years\, the ride has raised thousands of dollars for programs that reflect Shelby’s passions and values. The Ride to Shine Observation Run takes place on Sunday\, September 14\, 2025 at the Berville Lions Club\, 13651 Hough Rd\, Berlin Township\, Michigan. \n\n\nRegistration and Kickoff: Morning check-in at 10:30 am to 12 noon at the the Lions Club. After registration\, riders head out together \n\n\nThe Ride: An observation-style run with multiple scenic stops along the way \n\n\nThe Finish: Everyone returns to the Lions Club for raffles\, prizes\, fundraising\, and a community celebration \n\n\nThe event was started by Shelby’s Uncle Brian and continues today under the Shine On For Shelby campaign\, which works year-round to support causes that mattered to her\, including animal shelters\, nature conservation\, food banks\, and victim advocacy. \nWhy Riders Join\nRiders come from all over to be part of Shine On For Shelby because this event blends what bikers love — the open road and camaraderie — with something bigger: \n\nHonoring the memory of Shelby\nSupporting causes that mattered to her\nShowing the strength and heart of the motorcycle community\n\nIt’s a chance to make every mile mean more. \nKeep Shelby’s Light Alive\nShelby’s story reminds us that one person’s light can inspire countless others. By riding\, volunteering\, or donating\, you help ensure that her spirit continues to shine. \nThe Ride to Shine Observation Run is open to all who want to ride with purpose and stand for something greater. \nJoin us. Ride for Shelby. Ride for hope. Ride to keep the light shining. \n  \nThe Ride to Shine Observation Run is organized by the Shine On For Shelby campaign\, which was created by Shelby Fazio’s family and friends after her passing. \nThe event itself was first started by Shelby’s Uncle Brian\, and he remains a key organizer and driving force behind the ride. Today\, it continues under the broader Shine On For Shelby foundation and volunteer team\, who keep her legacy alive through both the annual ride and community service initiatives. \n  \nClick motorcycle events to view all our Michigan motorcycle events\, rallys and rides.
